CONSTRUCTION: RE-SHOT OF SHOPPING SCENE AFTER FEEDBACK

After feedback of this shot I decided to create a 'Before and After' document to convey the difference between the two shoots and how we as a group improved it. Also, Alex Davies 1313 created a short video to show the difference between the two shots more clearly.

CONSTRUCTION: FOCUS TEASER

Our group has created a teaser for our film opening.

We decided to create a teaser as a form of distribution. It will help our target audience to see how our film is going to turn out. It also creates hype for our actual film opening.

PLANNING: WHY I CHOSE WARP?

Warp Films is an independent film and television production company based in Sheffield & London. Warp Films was established by Warp Records founding partners Rob Mitchell and Steve Beckett.

Vertigo Films is a UK Film and Distribution company founded in 2002 by Allan Niblo and James Richardson. The following year Rupert Preston and Nick Love joined and became partners. The company’s mission is to create and distribute commercially driven independent cinema and since inception it has produced 28 films and distributed a further 35.

When looking into which distributer to distribute our film, I looked into to two independent distributers because that would be the most realistic approach for my film. The companies are Warp and Vertigo. I researched what genre films each of the two companies distribute and work with. This would give me a better idea of which distributer would be best for my film.

My film opening is based on a sociopathic photographer who has unreachable standards in his work and in his personal life. This short summary conveys that my film would be a psychological thriller. Therefore, I think that Warp Films would be the best distributer for our film. Furthermore, if our film opening was a full length film I think that Warp would help it to become Critically Acclaimed and nominated for film awards (e.g BAFTA)

Warp distributes films which are usually critically acclaimed and get nominated for awards, like our film would hopefully do. An example of this is the film '71' (I saw this film when visiting the BFI). '71' got nominated for 8 British Independent Film Awards and won for Best Director. This example fits perfectly with our film as '71' has a niche audience because of the controversy and the violence. Whereas, Vertigo produces films which are for a larger and mainstream audiences, such as 'Monsters' and 'StreetDance 3D'

Therefore, I would pick Warp Films to distribute our film for all of the reasons that I have stated.

DISTRIBUTION: FACEBOOK

Facebook:

Facebook is a popular free social networking website that allows registered users to create profiles, upload photos and video, send messages and keep in touch with friends, family and colleagues. I have decided to create an Facebook page for our film opening in order to attack and address audiences.  The Facebook page is operated by myself however my group sends me pictures and posts that they want to be posted. Therefore created a effective Facebook page for our production team.

A successful Facebook page is 'A Field of England'. This film was special in that it was released on 5 July 2013 on multiple platforms simultaneously, including cinemas, home media and video on demand. I have based our film opens Facebook page on the success of the Film "A Field of England'

CONSTRUCTION: TITLE SHOT

In todays lesson I created a title shot for my film opening with the help of Beatrice and James. It was my first time using PhotoShop, however I found it was easy to use once my group helped me.

Photoshop is an image editing software developed and manufactured by Adobe Systems Inc. The software that Photoshop has created allows users to manipulate, crop, resize, and correct colour on digital photos. Photoshop is popular amongst professional photographers and graphic designers as its easy to use and a quality piece of software.

The design for the title shot was inspired but a camera recording, I decided to use the camera as inspiration as my film opening is about a photographer; this was also the reason for using a camera lens in the 'O'. Furthermore, I used a lower class and more handwritten style for the 'f' as it is used by photographer which stands for 'f-number'.
